How does Fytosave® work?

Unlike conventional fungicides that target pathogens directly, Fytosave® activates the plant’s own immune system through its patented COS-OGA active substance — making disease resistance natural, cumulative and durable.

COS-OGA recognition

Chito-oligosaccharides (COS) and oligogalacturonans (OGA) derived from chitosan and pectin are recognised by plant membrane receptors, triggering an immediate defence signal cascade.

SAR pathway activation

The plant activates its Systemic Acquired Resistance (SAR), strengthening cell walls, producing antioxidants and flavonoids — its own protective arsenal against fungal attack.

Cumulative, durable protection

Each application reinforces the previous one. The preventive and cumulative mode of action makes resistance development highly improbable — a unique advantage over chemical fungicides.

What is Fytosave® and how does it work?

Fytosave® has a pre-harvest interval (PHI) of 0 to 3 days depending on the country and registered crop. This makes it a key tool for late-season applications where residue compliance is critical, especially for fruit destined for markets with strict MRL requirements.

Is Fytosave® approved for organic farming?

Yes. Fytosave® is approved for use in organic farming across the European Union. Its 100% natural active substance COS-OGA leaves zero detectable residues and complies with organic certification standards. It can be used throughout the entire crop programme in both organic and conventional farming systems.

Can Fytosave® be mixed with other fungicides?

Yes. Fytosave® is fully compatible with conventional and biological fungicides including sulfur, cyflufenamid, penconazole and trifloxystrobin. It is specifically designed for integration into IPM programmes at any crop stage. Combining Fytosave® with sulfur improves efficacy against powdery mildew from 75% to 90%.
